In light of the recent Arab Spring, the ATA has given particular attention to Mediterranean cooperation and dialogue on security, as mutual stability and shared prosperity are essential for the region’s security.

On 18 March 2012, winners of the Transatlantic Research Study Award Tour joined the ATA in Brussels for a week long study tour. The winners of this competition were chosen by a panel of judges based on an essay that they submitted. The essays focused on new security challenges such as energy, food security, and cyber space.

The ATA Bureau held its annual TransAtlantic Consultation Tour with US think-tanks on March 12, 13 and 14.

During the Tour, ATA Bureau Members discussed with leading US experts about the future of transatlantic relations with a focus over new security challenges, partnerships and missions.
