ISOC Skopje 2011

The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia, in cooperation with the Italian Atlantic Committee, organized the “International Security Organizations Course” which took place in Skopje from the 22nd to the 25th March 2011.

The 20-hour course provided auditors with a comprehensive and comparative analysis of the key international organizations, their role in the contemporary security scenario and the global challenges currently affecting world affairs.
Lectures were held by internationally renowned Italian and international experts in the areas of politics, defense and security. The audience consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, the Armed Forces as well as the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission in Skopje. Participants were awarded a certificate of successful completion of the course.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by all Macedonian institutions and represented a significant contribution to the global debate on major security-related issues. Moreover, the course enhanced cooperation between national ATA chapters in the perspective of strengthening future relations. Finally, the initiative highlighted Italy’s continuing contribution to the Euro-Atlantic integration of Western Balkans.
