NATO Latest News
What´s new at NATO Headquarters?
  • NATO-sponsored project to help secure dangerous munitions in Tajikistan
Fifteen years after the end of a civil war, Tajikistan is left with thousands of tonnes of munitions insecurely stored in makeshift storage sites across the country. Aside from the many known munitions caches, several more lie undiscovered, posing a major security threat to the Tajik people. A Partnership Trust Fund project, officially launched on 31 January, will soon help Tajikistan to counter this threat.
  • Afghan law students make a winning case
Studying law is difficult enough but in Afghanistan, students are faced with more challenges than most. 22 year-old Mujtaba Habibi is a student at Balkh University in the north of Afghanistan. Sometimes he’s had to study by candlelight if the local neighbourhood has had a power cut. His fellow student, Mohammad Qadamshah, says often they can’t even go online.
  • Visit to NATO by the President of Bulgaria
The President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, will visit NATO Headquarters on Thursday, 26 January 2012. He will meet with the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
