Radovan Vukadinovic was elected ATA Vice-President at the 55th ATA General Assembly in Kiev, October 2009. He received his Ph.D in 1967 from the University of Zagreb where he is currently a Professor of International Relations.
Dr. Vukadinovic also serves as the Director of the Graduate Program of International Relations at that same University. Additionally, he is the Dean of Humanistic Faculty in Montenegro as well as the Chairman for the Croatian Association for International Studies and of the Croatian Atlantic Council.
Before his current work at the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Atlantic Council, Dr. Vukadinovic was the Chairman of the Croatian Association for Political Sciences (1972), Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal “Politicka misao” (1972-1981), Dean of the Department of Political Sciences (1980-1982) as well as member of the Academic Board in the East West Security Studies Institute in New York (1986-1990).
He has also been very active in the academic field, publishing several books, including: USA and Russia (Zagreb, 2008), The Mediterranean Between War and Peace (Zagreb, 1997), and The Break-up of Yugoslavia: Threats and Challenges (The Hague, 1991). He has also cooperated on several scientific and research projects including: “Between the Blocs: Problems and Prospects for Europe's Neutral and Non-aligned States” (Woodrow Wilson Center 1989-1990), “Political and Economic Transformation in East Central Europe” (Institute for International Affairs, 1995), and “Croatia on its Way to European Union” (Center for European Integration Studies, 2002).
His hard work in this field has been recognized by both the national and international community, awarding him several awards such as: the Nordic Council Fellowship (1968), The Netherlands Institute of International Relations (1991) as well as the Bozidar Adzija award for his book “Theories of International Relations” and an award by the city of Zagreb for his book “International Relations from the Cold War to Global Order”. Prof. Vukadinovic has two children.
