Lazar Elenovski was born on 19th March 1971 in Skopje where he graduated at the Faculty of Economy at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.
Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia August 2006 – July 2008.
As one of the greatest advocates for the Atlanticism in Macedonia, in the mid 90s he has started with the promotion and implementation of the Euro-Atlantic idea and values in the Macedonian society by founding Young Europeans for Security (YES) – Macedonia in 1995.
He has implemented numerous campaigns and initiatives for the promotion and support of NATO and EU integration processes of Macedonia, the civilization values of the Atlanticism and the democratic development of the country.
He is known as a great promoter of the regional cooperation and the integration processes of the region. Through cooperation with the civil society and the local authorities he has carried out numerous regional and international projects for strengthening the regional cooperation, improving the stability and security in the country and the region and is one of the founders of the Central and South Eastern European Security Forum – Balkan Mosaic.
From March 2001 till December 2005 he was Secretary General of the Euro-Atlantic Club of Macedonia and in December 2005 he was elected President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia, member of the Atlantic Treaty Association which unites 40 Atlantic associations from North America to Central Asia.
In August 2008 he was re-elected as a President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia.
